Cate watches the scans run their course on the screen, ever the professional. Ignore the hand-sized kitten and bunny combo she was currently playing with. The first scan finishes, no signs of damage. The play continues as the next scan runs its course, the rabbit smacking the kitten for some wrongdoing only Cate knows. Nothing. No energy, no remnants.
Sighing, Cate sets the last scan to run as she presses the intercomm. "Ship's dead as a doornail boss-lady. Seems the girl just had a heart attack. No damage to report, no energy leaks, nothing."

Once the airlocks cycled and mated to invade the derelict freighter's nethers, Keani followed the others inside, flicking on the light on her helmet. "It'd be a nice time for a ghost story, almost," she muttered, her hand pressed against the hallway's bulkhead as she made her way down the corridor. "I'll check on the galley and sickbay. See what we can recover that ain't in the holds yet."
The girl stepped quietly down the corridor, the maglocks on her boots keeping her from floating through the air. "It'll be a bit more comfy once you're able to boot up the life support again. Giving me the creeps with no one around..." Keani paused at the entrance to the crew lounge, working the console next to the door. She popped the panel off its housing before digging amongst the controls for the override settings. After a moment's work, she flipped the activator, allowing the doors to spring open. Letting the panel dangle from its wiring, she rested her hand against her repeater, slipping into the lounge.

Entering the Pythagoras, Finn looked about, peering about the ship curiously. The shoulder bump was met by a dissatisfied sigh, before moving to descend the stairs. Dolly followed, traversing the stairs by means of magnetized wheels and a low-set weight that kept it from tumbling down the incline. Finn stepped off the last step then aside, guiding Dolly down and out of the way, before moving on ahead. He stopped at the door way, and knelt down, opening up the access panel. A light flicked on his helmet, a more focused stab beam compared to the wide angle used for navigation, and he began to rewire the door, getting it open quickly. He clicked on his communicator as he stood up, entering the cargo bay. "Making our way to engineerin' now."

Silas hummed to herself as she followed Finn, just happy to tag along. She always loved watching his little bots at work. "Lots of stuff in here," she said with a grin, as soon as the doors to the cargo hold opened up.
Due to the zero-G, all the crates were haphazardly thrown around, floating and generally being in the way for the two spacers. Not like they would pose much of an obstacle though, being easy to push away.
"I've got this one," she said, walking a bit faster to the door to open it. She wasn't as quick as Finn, but at least she understood how it worked enough to get the doors open to engineering.
Inside, things were very clearly dead. What was supposed to be a room full of blinking lights and spinning turbines was now still as the dead and pitch black. Two bodies lay at the feet of the two of the several consoles, both appearing to have tried to restart the system and get things running again before suffocating to death.

Despite her jokes Dom didn't really expect to find anything left alive in here. Even if some lucky jerk found an atmo suit he wasn't going to have enough air in it to survive this long.
At the top of the stairs she found the sealed doors to the crew quarters. She opened up her toolkit, grabbed a screwdriver and pried open the manual override. She yanked the handle and yanked the doors open. She stepped inside and shined her light into each of the rooms as she passed through. She makes quick note of the uniformed crewmembers dead and floating. She continues on to her main goal, the bridge at the end of the long hall. "4 dead crew members up here."

Augusta joins Keani in the lounge. The lights of her helmet dimly illuminate the room. In the darkness, the faint outlines of figures floating about the lounge are revealed to be deceased crew members. Eight in all, they seem in various states of panicked dressing, some in atmospheric suits, others perished in simple jumpsuits.
Her magnetic boots clamp to the ground as she steps through, nudging bodies out of the way as she heads for the door to the next room over, the galley. She grips the handle and shoves hard once, then twice. The door groans open, revealing another black room.
"Update on the power systems?" She grunts through the coms.

The scan ran its course, and it seemed Mocha and Cocoa had made amends. Cate glances up at the screen, still nothing, seemed they were all on their own out here. She leaned down to press the intercom again, "All dark Cap. Just us and our ghost buddies out here."
Her finger continued to hold the intercom over a brief pause as she stared out the window. "...Soooo. How're you all doing? Find any creepy crawlies? Souvenirs for us to take home?"

Guiding Dolly through the cargo hold, Finn stopped beside the door way, waiting for Silas to open the door. Once it was open, he guided the robot in, then stepped inside after it, looking about.
He paused long enough to nod towards the bodies, before moving over and connecting his data slate to the consoles. He began tapping the screen, attempting to coax the ship's systems back online.

Keani kept her repeater holstered while she entered the lounge just ahead of the Captain, her light illuminating further into the room. She frowned within her helmet, her suit concealing a shiver while studying the bodies floating in atmo. Boots rang against the floor with a gravitic thrum when she walked, pushing past the floating debris. "Eight accounted in the lounge," she says quietly through the comm, her voice uneasy. "What's the rest looking like?"
The counselor followed after Augusta toward the galley doors, her light shining over the Captain's shoulder. Most of the room was utilitarian, looking neat for the most part. Food and other various supplies were sealed away in the storage units, with a pack of freeze-dried nutrient floating through the atmo in front of the doors to the sickbay. She quickly moved through the room ahead of Augusta, working on the door bypass to open the next chamber.

Silas pursed her lips, gently nudging one of the bodies with the toe of her boot. "Two in engineering. Looks like they were holding onto the floor panels to prevent floating up to the ceiling while they worked. Gravity must've been out immediately," she guessed.
"Finn's working on the power now," she answered. While Finn did his job, Silas took her time in checking out the consoles and other equipment, trying to get an idea of where to work once the power was back online. It wouldn't be much longer before the system booted back up again, surprisingly. So much for taking days to get everything running.
With the power on, the doors started working again, and the lights flickered with their standard luminescence. "All right, next up is life support!" she cheered, already tapping away at one of the screens that was booting up. "Wanna touch on the gravity systems?" she asked, a smug look on her face as she bossed Finn around. She always had a huge problem with that, taking charge when no one asked her to.

Dom whispered a little prayer for the souls of the dead crewmembers that didn't make it out of their cabins. She reached the end of the hall and got ready to manually open the doors to the cockpit when the lights came up and the door opened on its own. "Well.. that's convenient.." she mumbled to herself. She peered through the open doors and she stepped inside to take a look around.

"That's fourteen accounted for. Note locations of bodies for clean up later." Augusta calls out as the lights flicker on. She tints her visor slightly to readjust to the brightness.
"Glendan, Silas. I want you two to find out why the systems went down in the first place. We can worry about non-essentials like gravity later."
She presses a button on the wall near the door to the medbay. The entrance slides open revealing a body strapped to the table, seemingly primed for operation of some manner. Various surgical tools float around harmlessly. Augusta brushes them aside and takes a quick glance around before departing, heading back through the galley and into the lounge.
"Make that fifteen. Corpse in the medbay, on the table. Dom, how's it going up there?"

Finn cast a glare to his companion, then shook his head. "Listen' here, ya bug taught wire crosser, th' first thing we need to do is make sure the power stays on!" he said, jabbing a finger at Silas. Before more could be said, the captain came on over the radio, and Finn grinned wickedly in his helmet.
"Y'got it. You'll 'ave my report quick as a goat." he said, before turning to the console. Despite having a station to work at, he operated the system from his data pad, clutching it in one arm and dancing his fingers over the haptic controls.
"Papster, this is Finn. I need ya to use the Paragon's sensor's to monitor the Pythagoras' energy level's and report them to me. If there's a discrepancy, that'll be the cause."

Cate sighed as her question went unanswered, removing her finger from the intercom. She swiveled her chair, staring up at the diorama of the Caspian system. "Ain't right sittin' around here with no planets. Kinda gives me the creeps." The chair continues its rotation, leaving her facing her pile of animals. "Least I got all of you to keep me company here. Wouldn't want to be stuck on my own."
Finn's voice suddenly rang out behind her, and she winced at the name. She scooped up a ratty old bear from the pile before turning to answer. "Sure thing Glendan. Let me bring the sensor's back up." She pressed a couple of buttons to return the display back to the energy readings, resting her cheek in her palm as she waited to see if anything happened. Her other arm hugged Kudo against her. "Ready when you are mister."

Keani was elbow-deep in the access shaft for the door's console when the power was restored. She blinked in surprise when Augusta effortlessly opened the door with the push of a button on the controls. "Oh," she offered quietly, slowly disentangling her arm from the mass of wires and control circuitry.
Following the captain into the sickbay, she flipped off her light, swallowing hard when her gaze swept over the diagnostic/surgical table. She made her way to the table's side, looking squeamish as she prodded the corpse. "Surgical cuts, tools..." She lifted a hand to brush away crimson spheres floating above the body on the table. "...this ain't just ripped open. They were trying to save this guy, boss. They had him strapped down and they were trying to save him from something."
Keani quickly stepped away from the table, ducking out the sickbay and back into the lounge. "Something's ain't right here."
