Sarah nodded, ruffling the top of his head. "Course ya can! These beds are -huge- anyway. I hardly use up half of it. You'd have plenty of room for yourself like this." Her hand then moved to give his nose a pat, as if that would help clear it. "Come on, lets get you back inside with everyone else, okay? I bet they're all wondering if you're okay now too, they're not used to this like me afterall!"

Ivo thought about it for a few moments, eating another spoonful of stew while he did. "I guess I can live with that." He dunked his bread in his stew and grinned at the bard. "Gratitude is almost as good as coin. Lets you get all kinds of things!" He sopped up some stew with his bread and gave the bard a wink.

Thalu nodded in agreement, trotting alongside Sarah as the two of them made their way back to the tavern. "Do you really think they're worried about me? I thought I heard Ivo laughing at me . . ." he muttered in doubt, his tail tucking between his legs yet again, but to his credit, he didn't run away this time. "I don't want them to think bad things about me. I want them to like me."

"The hospitality's been fine for me while we're here," Saria offered, looking back to the entertainer. "I just get the feeling they don't want us here for much longer. Unless we suddenly conjure up several flocks of sheep to replace what we've eaten so far." She frowned before sitting up, her gaze steely while fousing on Tiaera. "What sort of threat? The bandits weren't enough to clean up?"

"There is a grouping of birch trees close by called the white wood. It is said that those who venture into it vanish or become irreversibly ill, which happened to the husband of a young woman I just spoke to." Tiaera frowned as she sat the empty wine glass down. "I am confident we can find the root of all of this." The bard brushed several tresses over her shoulder before smirking at Ivo. "And earn some gratitude for it, of course."

"He wasn't laughing at you meanly! He was just laughing. Nothing's wrong with someone laughing if you do something silly, that's what friends do." Sarah explained, hoping to help put the drakes mind at ease. "And it's not like you have to worry about breaking things like this, just don't use the bathroom on the floor like that again."
By the time she was done explaining they had reached the door into the tavern and Sarah lead the way in and to their table. She smiled when she saw that Tiaera had returned, "Did you help the lady out? She all cheered up?" The questions came as the halfling found herself a stool to seat herself on before pulling the food Ivo had ordered for her across the table.

"I guess," he replied pitifully, opting to follow along from there in silence as the two of them returned to the tavern and the party within. Thalu paused to regard everyone, then moved to Tiaera's seat to rest his chin in her lap, looking to get some head pats and ear scratches to further reassure him all was well.

Saria looked up from the table when the wayward pair returned, grabbing another heel of bread from Ivo's order. "Can't really help out that her husband's dead," she told Sarah matter-of-factly before biting into the crispy bread, wiping crumbs from her mouth with the back of her hand. "Though from what Tia heard, sounds like others've been disappearing too. It might be worth checking out, if only to keep Higgins off our case about the bills."
Quickly finishing the bread, the inquisitor leaned over to grab a cut of chicken, deboning the wing. She grabbed a choice piece, holding it out for Thalu. It didn't seem as succulent as the lamb had been, but she wouldn't turn away meat - and hopefully Doglu wouldn't either. "I figure if we're heading out to the grove, we can rest tonight and get an early start tomorrow."

Without any hesitation, Tiaera started petting the Dog Dragon's head, scratching plenty around his ears affectionately. "She has been on the receiving end of a great loss, but hopefully we can ensure no one else has to go through what she is." She did have a great deal of hope about her, and it would take a great deal to cruse her enduring optimism. She continued with slow strokes down the length of Thalu's coat as she waited for the table's input on the matter at hand. With any luck, they could get on with saving the town again by morning.

Ivo smiled as the halfling and the dog rejoined the group. He reached over to scrath Thalu behind the ears. "So it's setttled then? We go out there and earn us some more gratitude?" Ivo gave Thalu another pat and grinned at the group.

Thalu wagged his tail at all the attention he was getting, pleased to have his ears scratched and his head patted. Head pats were the best, dog form or dragon form, it didn't even matter. Sometimes, when he wanted to let Sarah know he was really happy, he'd pat her on the head, but she didn't react to it the same way he did.
"Are we going now?" he asked, his voice rather chipper, having since forgotten about his earlier embarrassment. No anger, only pets now. "Or are we adventuring in the morning? I can wake you all up as soon as the sun rises if you want!" Thalu was always eager to get out on the road.

Sarah started in on her dinner, her earlier tales having prevented her from eating when everyone else had had their fill. She'd missed half of the debriefing, having been outside when Tiaera had explained the situation to Ivo and Saria. Instead she was welcomed with the grumpy statement that there was no helping a dead man.
"I knoooow that. I just wanted to see if Tia could maybe help her feel better. She's good at making people smile, better than me or Thalu! That's what I wanted her to help with." She was talking as she ate, apparently the halfling girl had never been taught proper table etiquette either. "People are disappearing from getting sick?" She continued, questioning as she was filled in.
When the update was complete she flashed a smile, thankfully swallowing beforehand. "Sounds like an adventure to me! We'll set out right in the morning, like Thalu says!" The others may not yet have had the time to accustom themselves to what a morning wake up from Doglu was like.

Thalu took Sarah's response as the new party law, and bounded away from his scratches and head pats, right for the stairs leading to their rented rooms. "Come on, come on, the sooner we sleep the sooner we wake up, the sooner we go out on the road, the sooner we fight trees and sick people!" He was far too excitable for his own good, darting away and out of sight from everyone else to Sarah's room, where he'd already be curled up in a ball on her bed when she arrived, coins resting underneath his belly, preparing for sleep.

Ivo laughed at Thalu's enthusiasm as he hurried up the stairs. He wasn't in a hurry though and enjoyed his ale. "I don't know about adventure. Or even interesting. It could just be old wive's tales. Still worth investigating though. I'll come up once things die down here. I'm in no rush to sleep yet."

"Right out in the morning. I don't think we could wait much longer than that." Saria let out a quiet groan as she straightened in the chair, standing and surveying the group. "Once we're up and about, we should get started no more than an hour after dawn. If you need to grab anything else before we head out, now's the time. I doubt we'll have time enough after waking up." She grabbed a last piece of bread for her meager supper, bidding the others a good evening before making her way to her room.
