"You're right Saria! We just have to solve this before the plague-curse can get any of us! Hey Thalu!" With that the halfling was scampering off after her dragon friend, a hand to her hat as she ran. "I didn't know! It looked like a good mushroom I swear!" She added in, joining on the tail-end of the conversation. "Do you know what's making everyone here sick? If not who do we talk to that knows things. We're here to help!"

Ivo came up soon after with a relaxed grin on his face and his hands slightly raised to show off an easy demeanor and lack of threat. "We don't really think there's vampire trees. Our scaly friend here just gets a bit excited. If it wouldn't bother you we'd just like to set up near your camp for the night and start looking around in the morning. Of course any stories that you folk have about what goes on out here would help us out greatly. We'd love to swap stories about your observations with stories of some of our adventures."

Even Tiaera was impressed by how Ivo weaved his words. She watched his words leave his mouth with admiration, before snapping back to reality. Focusing on the mess hall, she put that on second priority to setting up camp, and having somewhere to sit and plan. A hand lifted to hook around a strap of her haversack, tugging on it in preparation to remove it and set up.
Tucking her hair behind her pointed ear, the bard smiled to the man in question who held their camp's fate. With a bat of her eyelashes, the bard titled her head to the side. "It would be quite helpful, I assure you that we won't impose anymore than necessary to help end the threat of the white wood."

Thalu fell onto his rump as everyone seemed to gather around the man he had cornered first. "Now Ivo is doing the Tia thing . . ." he muttered, caught somewhere between a mesmerized statement and a grumble. Everyone always switched over to this sweet talking tone when they wanted someone to do something for them, so why not give it a try himself?
"You should tell us why that one husband died," he said, using the same tone as everyone else, but choosing awful words for the attempt. He'd be better off intimidating someone into croaking.

Saria kept herself content with setting up the tent, leaving the others to the flowery words. She finished erecting the shelter, turning to organize her supplies. Even Thalu was trying his hands (claws? talons?) at it, though from the sound of his rather direct approach, she kept wondering if he'd do as grand as the entertainer.

"I, well... I don't see why not. Everyone's welcome to set up a tent here, s'long as they chip in. And if you think you can get the wood's safe again, I don't think anyone would complain." the man said, easing up a bit as more human(oids) came up to talk. His eyes specifically kept off Thalu though, looking between Sarah, Tia and Ivo as he addressed them.
"My name's Derrick. Daryl was a good friend of mine. I'll tell you what I can if you can keep it from happening to others, but I'm a bit busy. Why don't we talk in a hour, during dinner?" he asks, taking a step back and adjusting his pack. "Otherwise I'm going to lose my que for the saw, and that'll set me behind tomorrow."

Thalu thumped his tail as was the norm for him, pleased that their questions had been answered, and giving him a mental pat on his own back, figuring that it was his addition that helped sway the man. "What's for dinner?" he asked, licking his lips in anticipation at what sort of meal these burly loggers must enjoy after a long day of work.

Ivo gave the man his most charming smile and shook his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Derrick. A dinnertime story sounds fantstic." He smiled at Thalu and gave him a pat as he turned back to the group. "Anyone have anything we can pitch in to the group meal?"

Tiaera shook her head. "I'm afraid I only have rations to pitch in. I could help prepare everything instead." And considering the rations were only enough to sustain someone of elven blood, they wouldn't be much use to the loggers regardless. "Or entertain them. I am content either way." She smiled to Derrick before wandering off to help Saria set up the camp, as well as her own tent.

Sarah hopped up and down, her hand waving in the air as if trying to get a teacher's attention in a classroom. "Ooh! Ooh! Let me cook! Let me cook! I'll help them all and it'll be the best meal and they'll be so grateful they'll all help us out with our quest and it'll be great!" She beamed at the group, waiting to see what the others might have to offer.

Finished with the tent, Saria turned to the rest of the makeshift site for the others. While it used the existing camp grabbed by the loggers, she moved on to the other tents for the group, working to get them set up as well. "Any good things we've found so far?" she called out as Tiaera approached, studying the entertainer before turning her attention back to the tents. "And the plan for supper? I'm presuming it's a communal affair." She tried to keep her tone neutral while asking after the meal, but couldn't help to hide her distaste.

Ivo returned to the camp and found a soft patch of grass to settle on. He stretched out and nodded at Saria. "The local loggers are happy to see us. We'll all be eating together. Sarah's volunteered to help cook. We'll be getting some stories once all the work is done and it's time to eat." He unslung his heavy sword from his back and set to cleaning it, whistling a soft tune.

Thalu settled his saddlebags beside where Tiaera was unpacking her things, hoping he'd be able to sleep between Ivo, her, and Sarah all at once. One big circle of friends. "I don't have much I can offer . . . oh, wait, do you think they'll like my rations?" he asked, poking his nose into his enchanted saddlebag. While they all carried trail mix and berries and maybe some bread, Thalu kept rations of venison and thick slabs of steak, cut for the sake of feeding large carnivores rather than feeding the upper class.
