Cate stirred from her second nap slowly at first. The flight had been long and uneventful, something she wasn't entirely ungrateful for following the madness surrounding the Pythagoras. Still, it was half a surprise to find she wasn't alone when she woke up. "...Morning Silas..." She mumbled, pulling her blanket down so that it only sat over her lap and revealing Jack in her arms. "...What brings you up here. Ain't nothin' but lines t' look at right now."

"Killing time," she admitted, looking to the side from the lines to Cate herself. "Anyone ever tell you that you snore?" she teased, smirking to herself as she looked back out the window. She was dressed down into her pajamas, like she had just woken up from a nap or like she was just about to go down for one. Black pajama bottoms with little white stars and crescent moons on them, with a white tanktop on top, toes wiggling and flexing as her feet were propped up on the dash, in typical Silas fashion.

Cate smirks as she rubs the sleep from her eyes, "What're you wearin'? I didn't think ya ever slept. The others startin' to rub off on ya?" Her eyes turned to the console, now that she was awake she needed to confirm that nothing had gotten knocked off-kilter during her nap. "Who cares if I snore anyway?" She yawns, "Ain't no one else that sleeps here t' bother."

"I wasn't complaining," she said with a shrug, lifting one leg to re-position them both. "And I've always owned these. I like to wear them during down time . . . makes me feel all warm and cozy. Snug and secure." She smiled at the thought. "Besides, beats sleeping in my regular duds when I do manage to get a solid thirty."

Cate rolls her eyes, not that she was one to comment on others state of dress, her own was rarely a step above pajamas. "Guess I can understand that." She taps at a few more things, bringing up various diagnostics. "...Hope you're doin' better after before. Murmur's ain't a pretty thing t' deal with."

"Honestly? Would you believe me if I said I've dealt with worse? Let's just say I skipped a few vaccinations in my youth, and really regretted it once I started living on a Narid ship," she chuckled, though there was a dark, somber tinge to her tone all the same.

"Any vaccinations I missed on th' farm I got taken care o' in the city." She closes the diagnostics, content for now. "...Sorry if I brought up anythin' uncomfortable. Least it's done, right? One spineless parasite down, an' one to go..." Her finger scratches at the top of Jack's ear. "...Ain't that right lil buddy?"

"Might be a good idea to drop Finch a line about running background checks on all our employers, though I'm sure Anders would've covered any sort of trail he left behind." She tilted her head back and closed her eyes, nostrils flaring as she took in a deep breath. "Sleep well?"

Cate answers with a yawn, "Well 'nough. Bettin' there ain't nothin' to be found. Finch-lady doesn't take jobs from just anyone. She's all careful like that. Heck, I'm sure she ran up just about everythin' she could before we took you on." She spins Jack around, letting him look out the window. "...I keep wonderin' if he had anythin' to do with the Murmur. I can't see why he'd set us up like that though. Think I'd like t' ask him 'bout that if I get the chance."

"If she ran everything on me, then I'm really wondering why she'd hire me in the first place, and not some proper Narid themselves," she scoffed, hinting at something that, even after these six months, she hadn't admitted to yet. "You want my opinion? I don't think he set us up with the Murmur. Sure, you can buy just about anything from the Wound, but . . . I'unno. The way they left in such a hurry, I think he either didn't know, or at least didn't expect it, and certainly didn't want to risk going toe to toe with it by bringing it all the way back to Ferrum with his remote controls."

Cate shrugs at that, it did make sense. "Probably still deserves a shot t' the leg or somethin'..." She mumbles. Leaning back in her seat, she stretches her arms out over her head before settling back in her seat. "Y' find your date yet for when we hit dirt? Or should I be expectin' some company up here tonight?"

Silas shrugged as well. "Oh, sure. I don't think we need much more of a reason to shoot him in the leg, though. Or in other, more tender bits," she muttered, a faint and very small grin shining on her lips. "Pretty sure Keani's taking me, so there's that. Want me to bring you back a little doggie bag? Or something from the Wound or shops?" She glanced to the pile of stuffed animals. "Maybe a Coralon Murmur plush?" she teased, smiling to herself.
That was her coping mechanism. Make light of the traumatic things. Maybe if she made light of everything, nothing could bother her.

Cate raised an eyebrow at that announcement, unable to keep the grin off her face. "I thought you were scared o' her goin' all doctor on ya. When'd you go changin' your mind?" She follows Silas' glance to the animal pile, "An' I don't think they'd much care to share with a parasite." She huffed, "Ain't nothin' worth keepin' in one of those. Unless I went throwin' at anyone who came in an' bugged me, but even that ain't worth havin' one of those creepy things around."

Silas conceded on the murmur talk with a shrug of her shoulders. "I'll look for something else, then. Cuter than a murmur," she muttered to herself, as if she needed to make a point of that to remember it later. "And Keani? We were talking earlier, and I just . . . I'unno. I kind of gave up being spooked about it? Getting psychoanalyzed, that is. I know she means well, so no point in hiding from a friend." She paused. "I just don't know if she's my type to make it a date."

Cate chuckles, tossing Jack up in the air and catching him. "Uh-huh~. Well you two have your fun, yeah? Braatus can be pretty nice if y' know where to look. Have her take ya somewhere nice. Type or not, might as well enjoy it, right?" She teases before returning her attention to the console. "Man, seems half the crew's got a date planned once we land. Gonna make me all jealous."
