Silas eyed Angélique up and down, studying her form as she usually did with everyone she ever met. Though this time it lingered in a few places it probably shouldn't have had. "Oh hey, that reminds me . . . what's happening with your cabin, Finch? Do we all have to wrestle for it, or is Angél getting first dibs?"
Not that she would mind wrestling with her.

Finch goes quiet when Angélique enters the room, only speaking up at Silas' question. "It is my suggestion that it be left to Ms. Bellerose, though since I am no longer Captain I suppose that is for you all to decide." She pauses a moment, a small frown crossing her face. "I'll leave you all to acquaint yourselves, should you have more questions before your departure Angélique knows how to reach me. The sooner you head out, the better." With that, the video cuts out.

Dom straightened up and her boots hit the deck with a thud. She grinned a little and stood up. She wiped her hand on her pants and held it out to the newcomer. "Hiya. I'm Dominica Garza. As you can see I'm the brains of this group."

Silas straightened up shortly after Dom did, then waited her turn to shake the diplomat's hand. Rather than shake it, she gently took the woman's hand and brought it up to her lips to kiss her knuckles. It's official, Silas has lost it. "Silas Sedgewick. I'm the bug brains of this group," she joked, nudging Dom with her elbow. "Pleasure to have you aboard."

Cate raised her hand in a failed attempt to cover a laugh at Silas' greeting to the diplomat. "Ya get all fancy and then you go with 'bug brains' as your introduction?" Still shaking her head, she turned her gaze toward Angélique. "Cate. I'm the one who shuttles us from point A to point B." The pilot made no move to get up from her seat and greet the newcomer properly.

The woman reached her hand out to shake Dominica's, holding her smile. "It is a pleasure Dominica." Her hand releasing, only to be placed in Silas' own. Fully ready to firmly shake her hand as well, she was a caught off guard by the suave action. "That is good," pause. "To know that such knowledge is in your" pause. "Capable hands." Shit, that innuendo slipped right past her, but she swallowed the regret and the want to press rewind.
Looking towards Cate, she seems quite relieved to put that awkward mo...never mind. As the woman laughed, Angelique blinked away the awkwardness of the situation, not letting her smile falter. "It is nice to meet you, Cate. And I don't wish any special treatment, the room can go to whoever is more deserving."

Keani looked on as the holoscreen winked off, a moment later looking back to the newcomer. "Guess that's a warm welcome aboard, Miss Bellerose. Keani Evans-Pritchard. Ship's counselor and chef." She stood from her chair and gave a smile and small wave to Angélique before sitting back down. "And I never knew Silas was into the formal fancy stuff."

Finn watched the others greet Angélique, then rose to his feet and made his way over. He offered his hand as Dom and Silas had, though without the dramatic flourish that the latter had added.
"Th' names Glendan Finnigan. Y'can call me Finn, everyone 'ere does." he says with a nod, grinning in a good ol' Sitan way. "I'm th' owner an' propiter of the Paragon alongside Cate, though we do nee' t'settle the whole captain business now tha' Finch has lef'."

"Far as I can see it," started Silas, already stepping away from the newcomer to go back to her little spot against the wall, "we did pretty all right without a formal captain on Ferrum. Orders are orders, no matter who gives 'em. Finch is still bossing us around, too," she quickly added, nodding to the screen Finch had been broadcasting on.
"Gave us a new job. Told us what we should and shouldn't be doing, more or less. Do we really need to shove me or Finn or Keenie in the captain's chair? Why not just let orders be orders, and run around like there's fire nipping at our heels?" she shrugged, like that would ever be a good idea.

Cate leans to the side, resting an elbow on the table. "What about little old me Si? I'd be a great captain! Just ask Jack, he'd vouch for me right good." Cate laughed, "I do think Silas has a point though. We don't need a second Finch when we still got ours."
Her gaze fell to the now dark screen. "Anyways. If the boss-lady's signed off an' we got our coordinates, you lot ready to head out into the wild unknowns, or are we stickin' around Ferrum for somethin'?"

Angelique returned Finn's handshake, more than pleased for theatrics being excluded. "And a very nice vessel at that. It's good to meet you, Finn." She watched the banter between them, gathering a feel for the dynamic before interjecting. "I suppose there is a point to having Finch be a Captain from afar, but if the need should arise, someone should be appointed to make decisions in event that Finch is unable to."

Keani gestured to the blank holoscreen. "Cate's got the right idea. Now that we have the coords, we can kick off and head out to the dig. We just need Admiral Flipper to give the say-so." She looked over to Angélique, giving the woman a nod. "Well, if nothing else, we could probably spend time figuring that out on the way to the coords. It's something that needs to be taken care of, but I don't think any of us would be losing sleep if we don't have someone to step in for Finch right away."

"I don't trust Admiral Flipper to lead. He always needs me to aim the guns because he's a terrible shot." Dom smirked and shakes her head. "And he's a damn stuffed animal. Anyways, I think I can yell the loudest so I guess that's somethin if we're in a tight spot." She looked around the room and shrugged.

Finn stepped back as the handshake was released, looking to Cate and laughing.
"Well, whoever does win' up in charge aside, Cate's go' rah' right idea. Why don' we show our newest crew mate how the Paragon purrs at FTL?" he asks, looking at the others with the wide grin of a child about to show off a prized toy.

Silas nodded in agreement with the general consensus, stepping out of the way for Cate to head on up to the cockpit and get them going. "How about I give you a tour of the Paragon while we're setting off?" she suggested, smiling at the fancy woman as charmingly-like as her scarred face could manage.
