Keani waited for the door to open, the hole to grow big enough to engulf something, to swallow Finn whole, anything more than just the nothing that happened. "That was quick. You sure you jiggered the hole right, Finn? Sometimes it takes a lady's touch to really get it go..." Her words trailed off when Finn let go of the door, the counselor's mouth slightly agape and head cocked to the side as if listening to an unheard melody.
"Wait." Keani slid her repeater back into its holster, closing her eyes and stepping past the engineer. "Not a different shape." She rolled up the left sleeve of her tunic, the cuff bunched around her elbow as she slid her forearm into the hole. "A different being."

Dom tapped her foot nervously, blaster at the ready as she watched Finn. She sighed and shook her head as nothing much happened. She looked around for any changes around the room and then looked over to Keani with a bit of surprise. "What? What makes you so sure?"

Silas was quick to move to Finn's side, checking his arm for any damage like the caring friend that she was. As she touched his arm, she too froze like Keani, peering at the hole like it was . . . beckoning her. She opened her mouth to speak, but was stunned into further silence as Keani slipped her arm into the hole, before anyone could offer any sort of resistance.

Like Keani theorized, the hole seemed to react better to her arm than it did Finn's. It shrunk and captured the form of her appendage, and held it there for twice as long as it had Finn, but half as long as it had Silas. As it released the counselor, the entire complex whirred into life, and lights flickered on and the door shot open, far faster than the main door had when Silas tried to open it.
With light and power, the main room was far more detailed than any of them had expected. The ceiling was covered in designs, like a painting almost, of various symbols and figures, all arranged into different shapes and positions. Consoles that were built into the walls flared with life, and started projecting 3D holograms of Adimar figures, some dressed in flowing robes, others in simple clothing according to their style, and kneeling before unseen figures or objects.
Down through the newly opened door, more light beckoned them, though the hallway was narrow and they could not see the room beyond it without first moving forward.

Finn had made no effort to stop the others from examining his arm, simply pouting at the ribbing and his failure to get the door open. Keani's words had sparked confusion, but he wasn't about to stop her from trying, assuming she would fail as well.
As such, when the hole reacted and began to open, he had jumped in place and stared, slack jawed at what was happening. When the door fully opened and the treasure trove beyond was revealed, he turned to face the councillor, stuttering.
"How'd... How did ye. What did he do lass?"

"Yeah, sure." Cate huffed at Angélique, her eyes rolling as the diplomat seemed to think this was the place to fix her makeup. Before she could posit any further theories of her own though, Keani was zombie-walking to the door and shoving her arm into the waiting hole. "Wait--" She tried to say, remembering the pain Silas had been through and fearing similar for the counselor.
Then it passed, and the door whirred open like a ship jumping to light-speed. "I-- You-- Why did... What makes you two so special?" She asked looking between Silas and Keani in bewilderment.

Dom tried not to let the surprise get to her. Everything was all right so far but there was no telling what might come next. "You ok?" She asked Keani without really looking at her. Instead her eyes were on all the glowy gizmos and doodads and crazy alien tech glowing everywhere. "Huh.. the Narid are holdin out on us.."

"Sometimes it just takes the right touch in a strange hole to get things all excited." Keani slipped her arm out and looked it over, rubbing her wrist with her free hand. Shaking her head, she looked over to the others in the newfound light in the complex. "Just a lucky hunch, I guess. Yeah, I'm fine Dom. Just a little weird feeling my arm groped by nothing..."
The light in the complex made the counselor do a double-take at the reveal of the architecture. She let out a low whistle while patting down the sleeve of her tunic. "Dom's right. The Narid get all the good stuff before they open it up."

Silas scratched the back of her head as everything happened, and it happened so quickly at that. She wished she could've said she knew what was going on, or act like she'd seen half of this stuff before, but as each new light came on and each new console shined with its scrolling messages, she felt in the dark like the rest of them. Some xenospecialist she was turning out to be. Still, she had a job to do, and that's just what she was doing.
Rather than gawk or feel overwhelmed, Silas stood beside one hologram and studied it, admiring the detail of the projection and tilting her head at the repeated gestures. She looked up towards the ceiling then, lips pursed as ideas started to come to mind, but she needed to see more before her hunch could be proved correct. "Do we want to go deeper into this place?" she asked, looking back over her shoulder to the others.

"Look. I could tell ya Finn don't know the first thing 'bout ladies. Still don't explain why it took a shinin' to the both o' you though." Cate said with a grin before turning her attention to the holograms that have sprung up.
She let out a low whistle at the tech on display, making her way toward one of the holographic displays. "They got holograms? How come we ain't go stuff like this? Lookit this. It's so stable an'-- an'... colorful. An' the details." She tilts her head as she continues studying it. "...What do you think all the poses and junk mean? Some of these are fancier than the others."

Of course, the first thing that the Diplomat notices is the fashion. Her eyes darted across each projection to notice cut, fit, fabric, texture, colours and patterns. It was unique and she had only wished a Designer could have seen them instead, so she could be the first in line to wear a item from a Adimar inspired collection.
Slipping her lip balm back into a pocket, she approaches the screens to look more closely. "If only I had the chance to meet some of these people."

Dom chuckled at Keani's innuendo and looked through the newly opened doorway. She raised her blaster back up and took a couple steps forward. "Those holograms could be anything. A guide to how things work or an ad for a pizza place. Let's move on and maybe we can find one of those whatchacallits.. Rosanne Stones. I'll take point." She then stepped through the doorway, wary of any automated defenses that may be left behind.

Keani shifted her attention to the ceiling, looking over the etchings and figures overhead. She let out a low whistle while sliding the cuff of her sleeve back into place. "Rosetta stone. Some kind of translation matrix between us and Adimar..." She moved to the console beside Angélique, watching the robed figure spin and gyrate. "What do you think their dress is for? Some are looking a lot fancier than others. Some kind of hierarchy or priesthood, maybe?"

Finn moved in with the others, gazing about. His eyes were drawn to the holograms, studying them intently. Or rather, searching for the emitters that produced them. He moved over towards the nearest and kneeled down, putting his hands on the ground as he hunted for the light source. "Absolutely amazin'. Imagine th' applications of this technology... d'ya think it's interactive a' all, or purely decoration?" he asked aloud, before looking over his shoulder to call to Cate. "Imagine 'aving a control console tha' just pops up outta thin air for the Paragon! More room in the cockpit for yer toys!"

"I imagine it is a lot similar to ours. Clothing and adornment quality dictates the wealth and/or status you have, but without some sort of method to understand their trends, we cannot tell who is remaining in style." She looked back over her shoulder towards Silas. "Do you know at all? Perhaps if we can establish who we are being shown, we can predict and prepare."
