To say that the final dreg didn't ever stand a chance is an understatement for the ashen death that awaited it at the Titan's fist. It's last few shots did nothing to slow the charging Exo down, and the single shot that connected not only failed to deter it but seemed to stir the storm further. The fist connected like a thunderclap, lightning crackling against the blue light of ether that faded into the air as bones and flesh turned to dust and everything returned to silence.

Bastion took a step through the crackling corpse, flickers of ash and sparks of electrical rage dancing over his breastplate. He stood upright and slowly retracted his fist, rolling his shoulder. A brief glance left and right, and then he lifted his palm, summoning Sebastian to it.
"Keep a eye out for flickers, if you please." he said in a much calmer and more polite tone, now that combat was over. Once he had a affirmative, he lowered his hand and let the Ghost float freely, turning to face Sati.
"Scout? Something of that nature." he replied, walking towards her and shaking out his arms. "Infiltration and disruption. I'm not the most patient at watching and waiting, so the Vanguard felt I could do more by stirring things up. I imagine you were sent to report on how I did." he said, shaking his hand off before offering it to her, the mark of Six Fronts emblazoned on the vambrace. "Bastion-22."

"Not quite," she replied, eyeing the Exo up and down. "I'm pretty sure we're dealing with a conflict of orders here. I was sent to scout things out, get a head count, and try to figure out why the Fallen are gathering here." Her tone was flat, if not a little irritated. Still, she accepted Bastion's hand and gave it a shake. "Sati-9." She paused, then released his hand. "So, uh . . . " This is awkward, she thought.
"No offense, but the Vanguard didn't mention anyone else being in this area. Soooo . . . I still need to collect my data and report back to the Tower, and with you punching everything that moves, that might be a little difficult for me to do covertly," she explained. Way to make friends, Sati.

"So don't do it covertly." He replied, releasing her hand and folding his arms. "They likely radioed in my presence already; they'll be expecting a Guardian causing trouble. Just follow me and keep your head down, you can get a report of their movements and reactions. Sebastian here can assist your report with an of his scans afterwards as well." He added, nodding to the Ghost at his side.

"Who?" she asked, that being the first question to come to mind after Bastion finished speaking. Despite looking at the Ghost in question, she didn't grasp the fact that his Ghost was named, and hers wasn't. What's up with that?
"No offense, but I'm not . . . taking orders from you, hotshot," she replied, folding her arms too. "I've worked with Guardians like you before. The kind that think it's totally acceptable to run in, guns blazing, rootin' tootin' an' shootin'. There's a reason why I'm still alive, and why I haven't had to have my Ghost revive me yet."

"Sebsation. This one." he says, holding out his hand for the Ghost to return to. "I know, strange thing to name him, but everyone is partnered with a Ghost. He's my partner, and it's a good name, no?"
He then looked at her, and shrugged a bit, folding his other arm over his chest. "I wasn't giving orders. I was offering a tactical suggestion, given the situation we find ourselves in. Lone guardian's may go longer between revivals, but they also have no one to assist in reviving them when it counts. And as for going in gun's blazing, do you know what this is?" he asks, turning his hand to show the engraved mark of the Six Fronts.

"It uh . . . it sounds like Bastion?" she replied, shrugging and sounding unsure of just what to say in response. Her next thought was better kept to herself, and so her filter kicked in and kept her standing silent, shifting her weight from one heel over to the other, arms still crossed and bright lights for eyes staring at the Titan.
"My original mission was to be covert. Subtle. With every extra pair of boots, we start making more noise." She paused to glance over her shoulder. "It's . . . a Titan's mark? It looks awfully ratty. No offense." Like she was one to talk. Her cloak was frayed and tattered at the end, and had seem plenty of patching up with spare materials and the assistance of her Ghost. Thankfully it didn't show any of those patches, but they were still there. Too many close calls.

"The Six Front's. A battle, with six enemy forces held back by four titan orders." he said, thumping his fist against his chest. "Outnumbered and out manuvered, they held the City against the opposition. It wasn't done by sitting back and playing it safe; they launched counter raids and harrassed the enemy, made it so they couldnt feel safe anywhere. Offense breaks your foe's momentum, keeps them from bringing their strength against you. Wait in the shadows, all you do is give them time to prepare."

"Disruption can yield information, and if we--" Sebastian turned to look toward his Guardian. "Cause enough of a stir that the Fallen don't know where to look. Perhaps you'll be able to penetrate deeper and see what they're doing here? Regardless. Standing here after that fight is probably not wise. I'm not picking anything up yet, but Bastion wasn't wrong when he stated that the Fallen would have had time to call in the fight. We could be swimming in Fallen in minutes."
The Ghost paused to regard Sati. "...I suggest we come to some agreement and get moving."

"I'm not trying to stop an army. I'm trying to figure out why it's here." She paused for a solid ten seconds, considering her options. "Let's just . . . agree to disagree and follow the suggestions given to us by our Ghosts. It's smarter if I stay in your shadow, I agree. I just . . . don't like the thought of it," she shrugged. She didn't like relying on other people. Never trust anyone you don't already know.
"Lead the way, I guess. I'll just . . . cover you," she finished with a grunt, readying her scout rifle and aiming down its sight to test it.

Looking between Sebastian and Sati, Bastion nodded with a quiet purr of servo-motor's. He then reached out, offering his palm to the Ghost. "Then direct us. What's our best path forwards and deeper?" he asked, as his free hand brought his auto rifle off the sling and to his side, ready to move.

Sati-9 took a moment to look over her shoulder one last time, watching for the potential shock dagger waiting to sink through her armour. Once they had their orders, she'd be ready to follow. Until then, her mind wandered and questioned the pros and cons of this impromptu alliance. With luck, things wouldn't go as poorly as she was preparing for.
As Bastion spoke to Sebastian―she still thought it was a strange name―she took a moment to do a little introspection. It wasn't like her to be so . . . negative. She was normally the one telling her Ghost things would turn out all right, that things weren't nearly as bad as they seemed, or that they might get out of this or that dire situation, as they had all the others. So why was it that now she felt so pessimistic?
It wasn't the thought of working with someone. She had no problem there―hell, it even felt like a welcomed change of pace, being able to rely on someone who could do more than pick a lock or hack a terminal. So . . . what was it that had her so on edge?

Sati's ghost appeared beside her, revealing itself to Bastion for the first time. "Our immediate goal was the top of the tower, or as high as we can reach and get an idea of where they seem to be gathering. As well as what patrol paths might be, we already had an encounter with a pair of Pikes." The Ghost regarded Bastion for a moment. "That said, the Fallen now know our location. I'm not sure if the best course of action is still to scout from here or to retreat and hope we find another building we can use."
"I trust Sati's judgement in regards such as these." It said as it vanished back into its guardian.

Sati let out a small sigh. "My Ghost's right. We really can't afford to stay here, but at the same time it's not safe to walk through the streets. If only . . . " she started, then blinked. "Hey, can either of you see if there's a service tunnel around here? Maybe we can find a way underground and use that to relocate through the city?" she suggested, speaking to the Ghosts.

"I'd need a computer or some sort of terminal to hook into. These old buildings tend to have them lower down. If we want to stay low, it should be on the way." Sati's ghost answered.
