Sati didn't bother waiting for an analysis, instead just pushing on and hurrying for the open hatch. She took a small second to look down the hole, just to be sure that jumping in wouldn't kill her, then took the hop down, slowing her descent as best she could with her concentration. "He better not be doing what I think he's doing," she muttered, looking back up the hatch to try and spy what was going on, while still moving out the way if the reckless Exo wanted to barrel straight down into the hole.

"Standing? Mostly. It's also likely to be occupied by a contingent of Fallen now. The best option for us is to not have to come back through here." Sati's ghost responded from within her armor.
The hatch opened to a ladder, leading down into a series of service tunnels. The ghosts would appear freely once the guardians landed, lighting the otherwise dark tunnels. A yellow line ran low along the otherwise unmarked walls. They could head left or right down the tunnel, with left leading further into the city and right heading back toward the outskirts.

Bastion waited for Sati to reach the bottom of the ladder, before hopping down himself and catching the second rung down. He closed the hatch almost all the way, then triggered the grenade, wedging it between the top rung and the hatch. He carefully lowered the hatch to put weight on the grenade, then eased his thumb out of the way, leaving it caught between the two; when the hatch opened and released the pressure on the activation, the grenade would go live and activate.
He then hurried down the ladder, dropping a few rungs at a time to hurry his descent. When he reached the bottom, he unslung his rifle and nodded. "Don't worry, non-explosive. Just enough to shock anything that opens that up and make them follow us a little more cautiously."

"That's actually . . . smart," she replied, sounding a little too surprised. "Sorry, I uh . . . Ghost? This way leads us deeper into the city, right?" she asked, changing the subject and already taking the way she remembered from the schematics she found. "We can probably just rely on these tunnels to get us in and out of the city. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a hatch somewhere out in the wilds that this leads to. I mean, I would be, considering our luck and all, but at the same time I wouldn't, you know?"

Sati's Ghost gave an affirmative on the directions. The Guardians would be able to wind their way through the tunnels, Sati's Ghost providing instruction when the paths split. They were already a little ways down the tunnel when the dull blast of Bastion's grenade was heard. As they progressed they would twice have to backtrack as the pair encountered collapsed portions of tunnel.

Bastion followed Sati down the tunnels, his rifle sweeping corners as they rounded them. He was rather quiet as they moved, but when they heard the distant zap of the lightning grenade going off, he turned his head back and chuckled. "I think they found my gift." he would remark, shaking his head as they continued on.

Sati's shoulders slumped as her commentary and question went ignored, attitude hardened from there out to mimic Bastion's actions with the situation. She checked corners and stayed at the ready for anything, mostly expecting a band of shanks to be patrolling where the Fallen didn't want to go. Given the choice, she would've wanted to stay out of these tunnels, too. She couldn't smell, but she could certainly feel the dust coating her with each step.
With the detonated grenade sounding in the distance, Sati flinched and then started to pick up her pace. "There's bound to be more stupid enough to try," she muttered, still pressing on. When the silence was too terrible to bear, she tried asking another question. "What's your story, Bastion? Where'd your Ghost find you?"

"Not much of a story, I'm afraid." he called over his shoulder, looking back to her. "Sebastian found me in London, and we spent a while in Europe before I got to the tower. Damn ship we found blew a engine as we left the city. So, once we cobbled together what he needed to fix it, we got there and set to work. Turn's out, a go-getter like me is the type the Vanguard love to keep busy."
He paused and released the magazine of his weapon, catching it neatly to inspect the load before replacing it. "So I've been out, either in the frontier or in the crucible training. And what about you?"

"The Sahara Desert," she said curtly, pausing at a corner to check down the way with a flash of her rifle. "My Ghost got me up, we got rescued, and then I've spent the rest of the time . . . scouting. I've been keeping tabs on Fallen numbers and patrolling the hot spots to more or less help guide guardians on where to go," she explained, her tone easing up a little.
"What's the Crucible like? I've never tried it out, personally. I assume there's a lot of bullets, and I hear Lord Shaxx yells a lot." She paused for a moment. "Guardian boot camp, I guess."
