"Then let's do that," she decided, suddenly taking the lead by turning around and marching for the stairs she had used earlier to make it up here. She looked over her shoulder as she walked and hefted her rifle up to better support it. "Coming?" she asked, already walking into the stairwell.

Bastion watched Sati and her Ghost discus the options, deciding to let the Huntress decide on their course to ease the tension between them. The fact that she set off on her course almost immediately drew forth a chuckle from the man, and he moved to follow her, rifle at the ready but barrel down with her in front.
"Of course. As fun as staying behind in a glorious last stand sounds, the Darkness promises a far better fight in the future."

Sati had no response to that, none but for the slight frown that fell upon her features and the dimming of the lights of her eyes. The Darkness promises a far better fight in the future. Hearing that only reminded her of why she was here, and while that should have given her hope and the strength to press on, it only disheartened her.
"You're the optimistic one," she muttered, her voice quiet and directed at herself. "Snap out of it," she continued, her pace increasing down the stairs. "Which floor are we thinking? Ground level?" she asked, this time louder and directed at either of the Ghosts.

"Ground level is the most likely. From what we saw on the way up there's nothing but these empty living quarters on these floors." The way back down to the ground floor was largely quiet, and the pair of guardians would soon find themselves back in the lobby. It was also a room they would probably want to leave quickly given that the front wall was mostly broken windows and there was little to hide them from any Fallen that may be convening on the area.
"Perhaps the back?" Sati's ghost offered up helpfully, indicating a door that sat behind the counter. "Or that door across the way?" This time it indicated one on the far wall, largely nondescript.

Sati visibly became more cautious as they reached the ground floor, rifle at the ready and pointed outside, only to spin as she checked the corners. "I'll try the back, Bastion hit the far wall," she suggested, though her tone made it seem more like an order than a suggestion. She was tense, and didn't entirely know why.
The Exo moved towards the back door, gingerly pressing it open and checking around to make sure things were safe.

Bastion was silent as they moved, keeping a ear cocked for any out of place noise or sudden return. His eyes swept the side passages they passed, and on a regular basis he would turn and walk backwards, sweeping behind them.
When they reached the ground floor, he nodded at the suggestion (at least, he told himself it was) and moved to the door, gently nudging it open. If it was clear, he'd hold up his hand to summon Sebastian, quietly asking him to scan the passage beyond.
"I somehow suspect we haven't met a friend." He'd murmur to the Ghost, glancing briefly back at Sati. "Think she's that mysterious Exo... What was it... Stranger, the Vanguard talks about?"

Sati opened the door to find what once an office. It had been scavenged pretty heavily, but along the back wall was a small terminal. "It's not much, but I can see what I might find." Her ghost spoke, flitting away to the terminal. "Maybe there's some other records?"
-------------------------------------------
The hall beyond the door was clear, and much sparser in design than previous rooms had been. Sebastian appeared over his guardian's hand, sending out a scan of the nearby area. "Unlikely. She does seem to be a Guardian unlike that one. Perhaps not a friend, but an ally? Our goals are not so dissimilar Bastion. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra set of eyes on our back with so many Fallen around."
The hallway extended a ways forward before taking a turn to the right. There was another door at the end, a worn down sign on it with the following on it. "ANGER BOI ROO AUTHOR PERSON ON"

"Maybe," she replied, holding her hand out as she approached the terminal. "See what you can find." She gave the Ghost a little nudge forward as he moved towards the terminal, then she moved to the office's desk to root around for any papers or anything at all.

"I'm not arguing that. Just a shame that we always seem to meet people who do not appreciate the tactical value of a good, honest fight." He grunted, sighting down his rifle and letting his eyes adjust to the lighting beyond. "Remember that Warlock, who abandoned us near te Cosmodrome because I chose to engage that Fallen and draw them away from the hanger?"
Spotting the door at the end of the hall, he squinted, trying to make out the words. Beneath his helmet, there was a low glow as he sub vocalized the words a few times, trying to sound it out.
"... Danger... Boi... Room? Authorized Persons Only?" He asked Sebastion after a few moments, looking at the Ghost.

As Sati's ghost got to work, the Exo began to root around the desk. The hope that papers might survive was a slim one and ultimately didn't appear like it would pay off. The few that were found were faded, written in a language the guardian couldn't understand. Persistence would pay off though, and she would find a floor plan that seemed to lead to an old service tunnel.
"Got it." The satisfied voice of her ghost came from behind, a map of the tunnels that ran beneath the city flashing across the monitor. Between these two pieces, the plan to go underground seemed feasible.
-------------------------------------
"Remember how burned up your armor was by the end of that fight?" Sebastian retorted as it turned it's attention toward the sign. "There doesn't seem to be anyone to check us. Might as well take a look."
Beyond the door was a rusted, worn down room. It was doubtful it looked good even before the Collapse and time had done little good to it. Red pipes, unless they were just that rusted over, ran along the walls and ceiling in various sizes. Against the back was a heavy looking cylinder, the boiler. A more searching glance would show something under the dust however: a hatch. Perhaps this is what they had been looking for?

"Me too," replied the Exo. "Let's get the Bastion twins and get moving." She started moving back to the main room, gun still at the ready. No room to let her guard down, apparently.
"Bastion?" she called, peeking into the room he moved into. "We've got the blueprints. Find anything on your end?" she asked, carefully eyeing the room she was now in.

"You say burned. I say marked in memory of a good fight. Normally a Guardian would have to seek a outfitter for that kind of detail." Bastion retorted, opening the door. He entered and moved through the room, examining it until he came to the hatch. He knelt before it and gave the handle a experimental tug, testing it's resistance just as Sati arrived.
]"I've got a hatch. What do the blueprints say about it, am I opening or locking it?" he called over his shoulder.

There was some resistance to the tug. Long years of sitting unused had rusted the hinges. It wouldn't be impossible to pull open, but it would likely break off in the process.
The blueprints would show a tunnel leading from this location, exactly what they needed. Before they had long to discuss however an explosion sounded from outside.
"I believe the Fallen reinforcements have finally arrived." Sebastian spoke as another blast hammered against the building, light debris raining down on the guardians heads.

"Looks like this is the way to go," she replied with a shrug. Quietly, she made her way down the stairs, her steps eerily silent, like she was unnaturally light. She would have made it all the way down had it not been for the initial explosion.
"Shit!" sounded Sati, who was already on the move towards the hatch. "Get it open, let's go let's go," urged the Exo. "Ghost, analysis on the building. Is she going to be standing if we need this route out?"

With a grunt of acknowledgement, Bastion pulled on the handle and opened the hatch with one hand, the other holding his rifle. As it swung open, he leaned over and aimed his rifle down, sweeping the shaft once.
"Looks clear. Go." He ordered, nodding towards the hole as his hand dropped to his belt to remove a stick grenade. "I'm going to make sure they can't follow easily."
